AMFI, SEBI flag off Bharat Nivesh marathon

Visakhapatnam: Association of Mutual Funds India (AMFI) and Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) jointly flagged off the Bharat Nivesh Run Marathon, an event designed to promote both financial literacy and physical fitness here on Sunday.

The marathon organised on the beach road saw an impressive turnout of around 4,000 participants, underscoring the increasing importance placed on both financial education and health in society. The Bharat Nivesh Marathon was officially launched by SEBI’s Executive Director G Ram Mohan Rao along with Venkat Chalasani, Chief Executive, AMFI and Cmde S Sabesan, Command Refit Officer, Eastern Naval Command, who inaugurated the event.

Spanning across multiple cities including Jodhpur, Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), Guwahati, Indore, and now Visakhapatnam, the marathon aimed to raise awareness about the significance of investor education in today's dynamic financial landscape.

In a statement, Venkat Chalasani, CEO, AMFI emphasised the critical role of investor awareness in fostering personal and societal prosperity, stating, "In today’s contemporary landscape, investor awareness stands as a cornerstone for financial well-being. The success of events such as the Bharat Nivesh Run underscores our unwavering commitment to advancing financial literacy and empowering investors. We eagerly anticipate continued collaboration with SEBI and other stakeholders to promote a financially savvy and resilient India."
